Wellsford Golf Club
Our fairways and greens are in fine
condition and the ongoing improvements
have brought us up to the expectations
of the modern golfer. The green fees are
more than competitive for the quality of
the fairways and greens. We are open
from 7am until dark, 7 days a week.
There are carts, clubs etc for hire and
you are welcome to use the facilities
after your game.

Dome
Valley Walkway
Native bush, rejuvenating kauri and
spectacular views. The lookout, with
views across the Mahurangi Peninsula to
the Hauraki Gulf, is the first stop,
before the ascent to the Dome summit,
with its magnificent views northward
across exotic forest to the distant
crags of Taranga Island, the mother
‘hen’ of the Hen and Chickens Islands.
The track then descends gently to the
Waiwhiu Kauri Grove.

Pakiri Beach
Pakiri Beach is famous for its 9km-long
white sandy beach. There are many
activities for visitors, including
swimming, surfing, beach fishing and
kayaking in the estuary. Horse riding on
the beach is a popular attraction. There
are also four golf courses nearby, and
glass-bottom boat tours at the nearby

Kaipara Harbour
The Kaipara Harbour lies on the west
coast of the North Island near Auckland.
It is New Zealand’s largest enclosed
harbour and an important bird habitat
for both native and migratory species.
The numerous indentations and inlets are
part of a system of drowned river
valleys. Kaipara Harbour has a total
shoreline of over 3000km. There are good

Tomarata Lake
Located approx 20 km northeast of
Wellsford are the two lakes of Lake
Tomarata and Lake Spectacle. Lake
Tomarata is the more accessible of the
two with vehicle access to it's
lakeshore. Both lakes are very
popular with water-skiers. Lake Tomarata
is signposted and is a safe swimming
place for young children. It also offers
a boat ramp, changing shed, toilet, BBQ
and picnic tables. |
